    Simple Question. Are you?
Example infront of a cop etc?

You are allowed to unless there is already a smoking ban in place. Like a bar patio or within x distance of a doorway.*

*This advice applys to Canada only

A lot of the legal states in the US do not allow you to smoke in public if you are a medical patient.

In Cali if you have your card you can light up anywhere in public, I personally would suggest somewhere discrete though just to avoid any trouble.

I don't wanna seem like a stickler or something, but do you have a source for your comment? I'm just curious, I would like to look into it more for myself and see what the specific regulations are for smoking in public.

    Thanks!

    (b) In or within 1,000 feet of the grounds of a school, recreation center, or youth center, unless the medical use occurs within a residence.
    (c) On a schoolbus.
    (d) While in a motor vehicle that is being operated.
    (e) While operating a boat.

The way we lose privileges is when people take advantage of them. I would do what your common sense tells you is right and wrong here. No matter what the law says you can do.

A while back I was at a concert at St. James Park in San Jose and a person next to me fired up and cop came over and started to arrest him and he showed him his Can_Med Card and was told that even with the card he was not allowed to smoke anywhere there were underage kids.
I don't know if that was State wide or just in San Jose.
As far as firing up in front of a cop?
That's why we, stoners, have such a bad rep with the general public.

    No, not in Colorado.

    According to Amendment 20

    (5) (a) No patient shall:

    (I) Engage in the medical use of marijuana in a way that endangers the health or well-being of any person; or

(II) Engage in the medical use of marijuana in plain view of, or in a place open to, the general public.

Actually it say while operating a boat. So you could ride in one and smoke. For some reason you can't in a car though, probably because of some dumb idea about contact highs or something.
