donating plasma...drug test?

    a friend of mine donates plasma weekly for some extra money while in school. She used to smoke on the weekends with us until she started donating plasma...

    well this weekend she smoked, and would like to know if they test for marijuana when you donate.

    Eligibility guidelines from Red Cross.
    This was news to me. I figured that if there were any plant cannabinoids detected they would not accept it.

    Oh wait, I goofed. That's for blood, not plasma. I'm trying to find some information on drug testing for plasma as you read this.

    As far as I can tell, they don't hold plasma to any different standards when compared to blood since plasma is found in blood.

    When you donate blood, they extract the plasma from the blood after they draw it. It's the plasma they use in the hospitals...
