A close family member of mine had Psychosis and a Psychotic Break. It was triggered after they smoked marijuana a few times but NOT caused by smoking marijuana. It would have surfaced anyway the marijuana just aided in its awakening. My mom knows I smoke weed and has been researching weed and its correlation with Psychosis. She told me that today's marijuana is stronger than it used to be (Not that I didn't know that already) BUT she told me why it is and why it's worse for people than it used to be. To quote a page i found: "In the process of cultivating more potent strains of pot, growers have also been breeding out a little-known ingredient called cannabidiol that seems to buffer the effects of THC. So today's high-octane pot actually contains a double-whammy - more psychosis-producing THC, and less of the protective CBD or cannabidiol." So according to some of what I've been reading marijuana actually CAN cause, or at least help in the development of, Psychosis. I've been smoking for a while and Marijuana hasn't given me Psychosis (knock on wood). However, since I have a close relative that had a Psychotic Break (which doesn't raise my likelihood of getting it much) AND I smoke weed AND my brain is not yet fully developed (I'm under 20 and teens that smoke weed are at a higher risk for Psychosis and Schizophrenia) I'm a bit concerned. If anyone knows anything on this subject that'd be awesome. I'll post some links on Psychosis, Marijuana and their correaltion down below. I'd really appreciate it you guys could take a second and check out the links and reply.

If anyone knows anything about Cannibidiol (CBD) I'd be interested in learning more about it too.

Another thread- probably the best one http://www.cbc.ca/documentaries/natureofthings/2010/downsideofhigh/facts.html

Psychosis is more to be in people who had a traumatic childhood and started smoking at an early age and this is still a small number. Weed contains over 80+ cannabinoids CBD Is the most medical property of the weed is can help flare up or pain and has the power to stop tumors. Some say it can be the cure to cancer. Here something from online: Also Kush is higher CBD; 2. Cannabidiol - CBD also occurs in almost all varieties. Concentration range from nil (119,138), to about 95 percent of the total cannabinoids present. THC and CBD are the two most abundant naturally occurring cannabinoids. CBD is not psychotomimetic in the pure form (192), although it does have sedative, analgesic, and antibiotic properties. In order for CBD to affect the high, THC must be present in quantities ordinarily psychoactive. CBD can contribute to the high by interacting with THC to potentiate (enhance) or antagonise (interfere or lessen) certain qualities of the high. CBD appears to potentiate the depressant effects of THC and antagonise is excitatory effects (186). CBD also delays the onset of the high (183) but can make it last considerably longer (as much as twice as long). (The grass takes a while to come on but keeps coming on.) Opinions are conflicting as to whether it increases or decreases the intensity of the high, "intensity" and high" being difficult to define. Terms such as knock-out or sleepy, dreamlike, or melancholic are often used to describe the high from grass with sizeable proportions of CBD and THC. When only small amounts of THC are present with high proportions of CBD, the high is more of a buzz, and the mind feels dull and the body de-energised.

You will be fine. Weed doesn't drive people crazy that don't already have problems. Do do hard drugs don't do acid..
