If you're a repeat offender (be it repeated warnings for possession or reprimands or cautions for other crimes), you may be taken down to a station and receive another caution. A friend of mine got caught with a different substance which is in the same legislative class as cannabis and he had to attend court to receive a conviction for possession, but I that's less likely to happen in the case of cannabis.
