Ogre Kush
aka Ogre, Ogre OG
Ogre Kush, sometimes referred to as Ogre or Ogre OG, is an indica-leaning strain with a relatively unknown lineage. Sources have identified at least three types of Ogre Kush (or Ogre or Ogre OG) with entirely different genetic backgrounds, but the three names are often conflated with one another, muddling the ancestry of this obscure strain even further.
Master Kush x Bubba Kush
Some sources claim that Ogre Kush is a cross between Master Kush, itself a derivative of Skunk #1, and Bubba Kush. Unfortunately, as this strain is said to only be available as a clone, growing information for this version of Ogre is hard to find. Carrying what has been described as a woodsy aroma with subtle notes of lemon and earth, this variant of Ogre Kush falls on the indica side of the scale, similar to its highly coveted parent strains.
Short Term Amnesia x Hindu Kush x Durban Skunk
Ogre and Ogre Kush have also been used as names for a cross between Short Term Amnesia, Hindu Kush, and Durban Skunk. Following the same pattern as the other namesake strains, this cut of Ogre also has unknown origins.
A Phenotype of Sensi Star
While the original breeder of Ogre Kush remains a mysterious topic throughout stoner circles, the plant is thought to be a phenotype of Sensi Star, an award-winning strain created in the mid-’90s by Paradise Seeds in Amsterdam. Although little information is available on this version of Ogre Kush, we can look to the renowned Sensi Star plant for more insight.
Sensi Star is known to grow short and dense with thick, dark-green leaves and a flowering time of 56 to 63 days. It’s also said to have a minty sweet aroma and flavor. While seeds or clones of this particular Ogre Kush cultivar will be extremely difficult to obtain, Paradise Seeds carries both regular and feminized Sensi Star seeds.
